Holiday greetings from Hellersdorf is an installation consisting of painted backdrops which will form an open-air photographic studio for two weeks. Passers-by can have their photo taken here and receive a print for free. The backdrops will be conceived in conversation with local street sellers around the Kaulsdorf-Nord Underground station.

The sellers work on the weekly market and in shops in front of the Underground station. They come from Punjab, Mekong Delta or Eastern Anatolia. I will ask them to name special and important places in their home country. Together we will choose three places which I will build as backdrops and install in front of the Underground station. For a moment the project creates the Illusion of having travelled to far away countries, with a photograph as proof.
